Awards week continues as we will be announcing Awards leading up to the 2026 ORWBL World Series. All 6 Awards were voted on by the 14 Managers as 3 points were awarded for a 1st place vote, 2 points for a 2nd place vote, and 1 point for a 3rd place vote.

After a really close vote, it was Austin Williams of the Twin Branch Billy Goats who won his 1st Gold Glove Award! This one was long overdue for A-Willy who has been known as one of the best fielders in the league ever since his Rookie year with the Granger Panthers.  He received 6 first place votes and was on 8 different ballots.

After many 2nd and 3rd place finishes, 2026 was finally Williams' time as he won a tight vote over runner-up Brett Mason of New Carlisle.  Ever since leaving Granger for Twin Branch, A-Willy has continued to dominate on both sides of the ball as he was once again selected as a National League All Star this year.  His hands were put on full display in the final ORWBL All Star Game ever played at Migley Field in what would end up being an award winning season for the 2021 ORWBL Champion.

Williams had a phenomenal year at the plate but it was his plays on defense that helped him win this award that many would say was long overdue.  He played a massive role in Twin Branch finishing 3rd in the National League standings as the Billy Goats were one of the best teams in the league over the 2nd half of the season.  Although the Billy Goats Postseason run ended in the ALDS, they were once again one of the top teams in all of ORWBL and A-Willy's arrival has played a huge part in that.

2026 National League Gold Glove Award Top 3 Finishers:

  1. Austin Williams (TB) 21

  2. Brett Mason (NC) 20

  3. Daivyn Davis (GR) 12
