New Carlisle's Tyler Shupert Wins 2026 National League Manager of the Year Award

Awards week continues as we will be announcing 2026 Regular Season Awards leading up to the 2026 ORWBL World Series. All 6 Awards were voted on by the 14 Managers as 3 points were awarded for a 1st place vote, 2 points for a 2nd place vote, and 1 point for a 3rd place vote.

Congratulations to the 2026 National League Manager of the Year Award winner, Tyler Shupert of the New Carlisle Newts! After winning their record tying 4th ORWBL World Series title in 2024, Newts Skipper Koby Keck handed over Managerial duties to Tyler Shupert ahead of the 2025 season.

In just his 2nd season, he becomes the 2nd Newts Manager to win this Award as Koby Keck was a 6x winner before handing over the reigns to Shupert. It was a memorable season for the 4x ORWBL Champions who are seeking their record 5th World Series title. Shupert helped lead New Carlisle to a 25-5 season en route to earning the top seed in the National League.

It was a dominant season for New Carlisle who lost only 1 series throughout the year. That came all the way back in Week 2 at the hands of the Twin Branch Billy Goats. They would then catch fire as Shupert helped lead New Carlisle to a franchise record 18 game winning streak that would last late into the regular season.

Shupert and the Newts will now look to cap off a storybook year in what is Migley Field's Farewell Season. They will have an opportunity to close out Migley Field by winning their 5th ORWBL Championship as Games 4-7 of the World Series will be played at the friendly confines. This will be the 11th time that Migley Field has hosted World Series games as it will be a special Sunday for Migleyville after what has been an incredible run spanning 2 decades for the league's most storied ballpark.
