Awards week continues as we will be announcing 2026 Regular Season Awards leading up to the 2026 ORWBL World Series. All 6 Awards were voted on by the 14 Managers as 3 points were awarded for a 1st place vote, 2 points for a 2nd place vote, and 1 point for a 3rd place vote.

Congratulations to the 2026 National League Cy Young Award winner, Matt Soos of the New Carlisle Newts! This is his 2nd consecutive National League Cy Young Award after he won the 1st of his career in 2025. He has put together a remarkable run on the mound as he has quickly cemented himself as one of the greatest pitchers in ORWBL history. Soos was on 13 of the 14 ballots he received 11 1st place votes.

He was the workhorse in New Carlisle's World Series title run in 2024 before dominating the Cy Young vote on the National League side last year. Matt Soos was once again voted as the National League Starting Pitcher in the All Star Game as he was the only 20 game winner in all of ORWBL. He led the NL with 8 K's while finishing 2nd in ERA just behind Griffin Smith who finished 2nd in the voting. Overall, he finished with a 20-2 record on the season, boasting an incredibly impressive 4.18 ERA.

He was a true workhorse on the mound for New Carlisle as he pitched 129 of the Newts 176 Innings. After Postseason series wins over Granger and Olive Township, the ORWBL Cy Young winner will look to help lead New Carlisle to their record 5th ORWBL World Series title in hopes of capping off a storybook Farewell Season for Migley Field.
