Awards week has arrived as we will be announcing the 2026 American & National League Award winners voted on by the fourteen ORWBL Managers. 3 points were awarded for a 1st place vote, 2 points for a 2nd place vote, and 1 point for a 3rd place vote.

We will be announcing Awards leading up to the 2026 ORWBL World Series which begins on Saturday. We will kick off the week with the Rookie of the Year Award winners. Congratulations to the 2026 American League Rookie of the Year, Chris Conder of the Union Mills Blood Sweat & Beers! Conder played in 22 games for Union Mills as he quickly became one of their best players both at the plate and in the field.

He finished the year with a .307 AVG while hitting 17 HR to go along with 24 RBI & 22 Runs Scored. He finished tied for 2nd on the team in HR with former AL Rookie of the Year winner Garrett Remkus as Conder becomes the 2nd Beer to win the Award!

Although Union Mills did not see their win total jump like they had hoped, it was pretty clear that this team made massive improvements. They lost a ton of close games but really began to hit their stride at the end of the season where they picked up wins over Mill Pond and Maple City who would then end up meeting each other in the ALCS. Beating both of those teams showed just how bright the future is in Union Mills and Conder's addition played a huge role in those impressive late season wins.

The Beers win on the road at Magic Park was a special moment for this group who will certainly be looking to build off of that in 2027. Manager Brycen Strauch continues to find talent as this is the 2nd time in the last 3 years that he has added the eventual Rookie of the Year winner. Things are continuing to fall into place and with Conder's powerful lefty swing and reliable hands now in the mix, it will be interesting to see what's in store for these guys in 2027.

2026 American League Rookie of the Year Top 3 Finishers:

  1. Chris Conder: 33

  2. Kaleb Salazar: 18

  3. Brandon Hedge: 16
